Our Ethos

Our Ethos

We put each child at the centre of their experience at Woodpeckers Nursery.  Our planning takes into consideration the children’s interests, needs and experiences.

The structure of our days allows more adult led times with the different aged children to encourage and support their appropriate age development.

For example, children due to start school in September will have dedicated support to get them “school ready.”

Themes are set for each week with supporting activities relating to different areas of learning.

We regularly display the children’s work and themes are shared in advance with parents to help carry on the conversations and learning at home.

Members of our local community come to the Nursery to share their skills with the children. We have welcomed vets, police officers, fire service personnel, PAT dogs and even snakes!

Parents and carers are always welcome to come along to Nursery to share their skills or interests with us or maybe just see what we get up to. If you are interested at any time please speak to a member of staff who will be happy to help.
