Hours, Fees and Funding

The sessions

Monday – Friday mornings start at 8.45am and end at 11.45am.

Monday – Thursday afternoon sessions start at 11.45am and end at 2.45pm. There is currently no session on a Friday afternoon.

The sessions are planned very carefully and so we ask that, unless in exceptional circumstances, you do not arrive before the given times.

We accept children from 2 years of age who may stay for a full day session. We have a facilities to offer naps during the day should parents wish for their child to take one.

If your child is with us for lunch (between 12 noon and 12.45pm) they will need to bring a packed lunch. We ask that no nut products are included in your child’s lunchbox as we have a child who attends Woodpeckers with a severe nut allergy.

Children have a supervised lunch break where they sit together and are encouraged to talk about their day, share stories from home and listen while others speak.   The children enjoy this social time together which makes learning table manners fun! Please ensure all fruit and veg is pealed/chopped and ready to eat.

We are able to offer a ½ hour extended afternoon session until 3.15pm. This is outside the Free Early Education funded by the Government and will be charged for at the hourly rate. This extended session may be useful for parents picking up school children at 3.20pm.

Our Fees

Woodpeckers fees are £5 per hour for 2 year olds, £4.75 per hour from 3 years old.  These are collected at the start of each term so you pay in advance for your child’s care. Unfortunately we cannot refund fees if you child is off sick or on holiday (including bank holidays that fall in the term time) on the sessions that they are due to attend.
